My Top Five Favorite Travel Blogs

Here are my top five favorite travel related blogs. (in no particular order) — except for the Seasonals Magazine. That one is first because it is most definitely my favorite.

  1. The Seasonals Magazine

The Seasonals Magazine is a magazine made specifically for people involved in or looking to get involved in seasonal work. Because seasonal work happens all across the globe, though, it’s perfect for satisfying the nomad in you.

Filled with stories and interviews from seasonal workers, it provides an inside look into living in a foreign place surrounded by a new culture. Whether you’ve never heard of seasonal work or have been doing it for 30 years I promise this well thought out quarterly magazine won’t disappoint you.

For refreshing inspiration every week or so, I highly recommend signing up for The Seasonal’s newsletter. Each one includes anything from new seasonal job opportunities to something worthwhile to listen to, read or watch. You can check out The Seasonals here.  The magazine also has an incredible podcast worth checking out.

  1. Indy Blue

While she’s more of an influencer than a travel writer, Indy Blue was one of the main reasons I wanted to start my own blog. She did a lot more traveling in previous years than she has recently but, nevertheless, her previous posts still speak volumes to me.

She has an incredible way of inserting her personality into her writing, leaving her readers feeling inspired, nostalgic and ready to conquer the world. Having been to 30 countries, accounts of her adventures are scattered throughout her blog, which you can check out here.

  1. Wild We Roam

Wild We Roam has a great blog and YouTube channel that is sure to make you want to become the most adventurous version of yourself. After living out of and traveling across Europe in a self-converted van named Ody, husband and wife Lou and Dana Roberts are just starting to embark on their next adventure of living out of a boat they’ve redone to travel all over the globe. Lou and Dana do such an excellent job showcasing just how they make their adventurous lifestyle possible, making their journey all the more inspiring.

I prefer to keep up on their YouTube videos over their blog because of the quality of the videos they produce but you can check out their blog here and YouTube channel here to see which you prefer.

  1. National Geographic

Possibly one of the most popular travel writing magazines, National Geographic delivers insanely wonderful content about travel all over the world. One of my favorite things about National Geographic is the mind blowing quality of its photography.

Another thing I like about it is that a lot of its stories focus on conserving and taking care of the planet. It publishes a lot of great articles about sustainability. You can check them out and more here.

  1. REI Co-Op Journal

Another excellent travel blog is the REI Co-Op Journal. It’s filled with inspiring and creative posts about everything from taking your next conference call from a tent to how to get up after falling while wearing skis. I love how unique and playful each of the articles are. They’re all so diverse, they’ll make you want to try out dozens of adventurous hobbies you’ve never considered before — let alone knew existed.

You can explore this particularly fun site here.

I hope you all find at least one thing that inspires you on at least one of these sites. If there’s any travel-related organizations you love that I haven’t mentioned, please feel free to comment them below because I would love to check them out. 🙂
